Enterprising Phoenix Area Grandmother Turns Hobby into a Ethnic Doll Business
Esterfina Jones, a grandmother living in Phoenix, Arizona, has started her own small business selling handmade dolls. Inspired by her supportive friends in her book club a sub group of Sisters of the Valley, Jones decided to start a business called Artsey Craftsey Enterprise (ACE) selling her customized dolls, turning her hobby into a profitable enterprise. Her dolls are made with love, and they all have their own unique clothing and hair. Jones makes the whole doll from the body to the individual braids in their hair. She clothes her dolls in checkered and striped dresses and, knit shoes which she makes herself. These adorable handmade rag dolls range in price starting from $45.00 depending on the desired size and style.
Additional products sold by ACE’s creator Jones include; Baby Layette, Afghan (48″X48″) baby blanket, warmer slippers, baby bonnet and booties, all which make wonderful authentic holiday gifts.
