LOS ANGELES, CA – On March 14, 2014, BET Celebration of Gospel celebrated their annual faith-based prayer breakfast at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills. Every year on the eve of the taping of the highly anticipated musical concert, many of the best musicians from around the world come together to perform one of the most appreciated and highly respected musical genres.
Guests were treated to a sweet and savory breakfast, in the Beverly Ballroom filled with inspirational music, praise and fellowship.
This year, recording artist Keith Williams served as the event host.
Among the gifted and exceptionally talented musicians on hand to perform, all of whom bring a fresh, unique edge to the gospel sound included: Charles King, Jonathan McReynolds, Crystal Rucker and Micah Stampley. Also in attendance were musicians: Grammy nominated artist, Kenny Lattimore and Grammy Award winning artist, Donnie McClurkin. Other guest included: Fonzworth Bentley and his wife Faune Chambers Watkins and, Judge Mabeline Ephraim.
Pastor Marquis Boone, celebrity spiritual advisor served as the keynote speaker.
On Saturday, March 15, the festivities continued with the taping of BET Celebration of Gospel, held at the elegant Orpheum Theatre.
Powerhouse performances and collaborations featuring: Candace Glover, Chante Moore, Charlie Wilson, Donnie McClurkin, Eddie Levert, Erica Campbell (Mary Mary) Hezekiah Walker, India.Arie, KEM, Lalah Hathaway, LeAndria Johnson Rance Allen Brothers, SWV, Tamala Mann, Tye Tribbett, Yolanda Adams and more.
Be sure to catch BET Celebration of Gospel, Forward in Faith returning this year, with new host Academy Award-nominee Taraji P. Henson airing on Sunday, April 6, 8P/7C. The gorgeous and talented actress will replace funny man Steve Harvey.
