15 Tips to Lower Stress Levels

It’s National Relaxation Day and we just want to go to the beach. Did y’all know that stress levels tend to be higher in minorities than that of their white counterparts?☝????❤️ There are a lot of things we can do to lower our stress levels, but let’s start with exercise, and going to the doctor regularly, and don’t be afraid of therapy!!

Here are 15 tips to relieve stress and help us to relax:

  1. Eat right and exercise 4-5 days per week
  2. Sleep eight hours a day
  3. Soak in a warm bath
  4. Drink plenty of water ( 8 glasses per day)
  5. Schedule time for fun daily
  6. Get out with friends, eliminate work talk
  7. Dance!  Put on your favorite music and jam
  8. Plan a day trip for  yourself
  9. Unplug for one hour.  Stay off of social media
  10. Try adult coloring books
  11. Volunteer somewhere
  12. Learn how practice mindful meditation. Focus your attention on things that are happening in the present
  13. Listen to the sounds of the ocean or the rain with your eyes closed
  14. Watch a funny movie or television show–or something that makes you laugh
  15. Don’t be afraid to get help from a licensed mental health professional.
