The San Diego Association of Black Journalists “An Intimate Evening with HLN’s Michaela Pereira” 2017 student scholarship reception was held at the Red Card Cafe on April 28th, 2017. The annual reception gives students who receive named scholarships the opportunity to meet and mingle with professionals in the field of journalism. Pereira, is the host of HLN’s two-hour daily news program “MichaeLA,” live from CNN’s Los Angeles bureau. Pereira shared her stories of resilience and overcoming adversity in the field of journalism.
