(San Diego, CA) Award-winning actress/dancer/choreographer Debbie Allen cast San Diego talent, Oaja Bridgeforth for a dance role in “The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker” musical.
13 year-old Oaja auditioned with over 100 young ladies for a chance to dance with Debbie Allen in the production.
After spending an hour in the audition room Saturday, September 19 with Allen and her esteemed panel, performing three choreographed routines that were taught that day, and a one on one interview, Oaja left the Debbie Allen Dance Studio on Saturday afternoon able to say, ‘I MADE IT!’
Oaja has been cast in the role as a dancer where she will perform a combination of Ballet, Modern, Tap, and Hip Hop Dance. Currently, Oaja is a 9th grader at San Diego High School of International Business. Additionally, she studies performing arts at San Diego based Heartbeat Music Academy, a non-profit organization that is committed to creating outstanding Musicians & Performers in a focused & creative environment through music.
