Disney+ Releases Trailer and Poster for new film “Safety” Inspired by Clemson University Football Player

Today, Disney+  debuted the trailer and  key art for its new film, โ€œSafetyโ€ a drama inspired by the empowering story of former Clemson University football safety Ray McElrathbey (Jay Reeves), a young man facing a series of challenging circumstances, whose dedication and persistence help him to triumph over repeated adversities. Aided by his teammates and the Clemson community, he succeeds on the field while simultaneously raising and caring for his 11-year-old brother Fahmarr (Thaddeus J. Mixson).

The film stars Jay Reeves (โ€œAll American,โ€ โ€œThe Tax Collectorโ€) as Ray and newcomer Thaddeus J. Mixson as Fahmarr along with Corinne Foxx, Matthew Glave, Hunter Sansone, Amanda Warren, Miles Burris, Isaac Bell, Elijah Bell and James Badge Dale.  It is directed by Reginald Hudlin (โ€œMarshallโ€) and produced by Mark Ciardi, p.g.a. (โ€œSecretariat,โ€ โ€œMiracleโ€) and Gordon Gray (โ€œMillion Dollar Arm,โ€ โ€The Rookieโ€) with a screenplay written by Nick Santora (โ€œThe Most Dangerous Game,โ€ โ€œThe Fugitiveโ€). Douglas S. Jones and Campbell McIinnis served as executive producers.

Through sheer force of will, he does the impossible, which inspires the whole community around him to do the same.  Itโ€™s a movie I canโ€™t wait to watch with my family on Disney+ on December 11th, and for families everywhere to do the same.โ€

The โ€œSafetyโ€ original soundtrack features score by critically acclaimed Grammyยฎ-winning jazz musician/producer and composer Marcus Miller (โ€œMarshallโ€), plus the original song โ€œHold Us Togetherโ€ performed by Grammyยฎ-winning singer/songwriter andย multi-instrumentalistย H.E.R.,ย which she wrote and produced in collaboration with Josiah Bassey and Dernst โ€œDโ€™Mileโ€ Emile II.ย ย The Walt Disney Records soundtrack will be available digitally on December 11.ย ย
