Earth Month Celebration NYC: Viral Celebrity Artist Gathers Over 200 New Yorkers to Clean Up Union Square Park

Contemporary industry artist and sustainability advocate, David Weeks NYC, widely known for his viral mobile installations and celebrity artwork and designs for icons such as Kanye West and Megan Thee Stallion is the Founder of nonprofit organization Plastic is Wack. His nonprofit is a growing movement that galvanizes influencers, community leaders and celebrities to collaborate in protecting the environment through ocean conservation, waste management, advocacy and more. 

In celebration of Earth Month, David hosted his annual Earth Day event at Union Square Park on April 21st where over 200 New Yorkers spent their Sunday afternoon cleaning the park, filling up tons of bags with trash. Amongst the volunteers, New York born and raised Actor, Dennis McDonald, best known for his reprising role in the Bad Boys franchise, was the special celebrity guest volunteer that commended the crowd for their sacrifice and servitude. 

Guests also competed to see who can collect the most trash and the winner received a special voucher to stay at 1Hotel Central Park. In addition, like-minded brands supported the event by providing free food and refreshments for the volunteers.
