Netflix strikes again and I am absolutely here for The Get Down!
The series will follow a group of teens in the Bronx during the late β70s, and showcases the emergence of hip-hop in New York. Directed by Baz Lurhmann (Moulin Rouge, The Great Gatsby) and Executive produced by Nas, the series will premiere on August 12 and stars Shameik Moore, Justice Smith, Jaden Smith and Herizen Guardiola.
Not only am into the storyline, but Iβm mostly into that soundtrack though – Nas, Miguel, Raury, Nile Rodgers and more? Thank you Netflix!! But donβt take my word for yaβll β watch the trailer.
