As Mother’s Day approaches, we’re reminded just how important our Mothers, Aunts, Grandmothers and other female figures are in our lives. They represent courage, strength and in some cases make sacrifices that we will never know about. With that said, no one understands the hustle more than moms that are also entrepreneurs. So we’ve complied a list of our favorite “momprenuers” who are not only raising their children, but they’re kicking butt by owning their own businesses too!
Check them out below!
JAMILAH LANG
Jamilah Lang, a former Communications Specialist, is the ultimate innovator. She created a solution to a problem that many women have had – my weave is itching, what do I do?! She combined the discreetness of a bobby pin and the effectiveness of a rat-tailed comb and eventually developed what is now known as the Weave Scratcher Pro®.
Jamilah was able to successfully pitch her product to heavy-weight investors sharing that not only was there a need for the Weave Scratcher Pro® but there’s a need for an entire hair product company dedicated to women who wear extensions. Mane Therapy™ was created to provide the best quality items for women who wear weaves and extensions. The Weave Scratcher Pro® was recently featured on Oxygen’s newest original series “Quit Your Day Job.” How cool is that?! You rock Mommy!
Jamilah Lang currently lives in Southern California, with her husband and two year-old son, Jalen and is expecting another one soon! To learn more about her company visit mane-therapy.com.

In between writing smart, fresh and diverse novels, to date she’s written four, and currently working on a sequel to her latest novel The Hand She Played, this mama has managed to raise two incredibly smart and talented young adults, all while having a passionate and successful career. TRISTA CARDONA
Customers of stylist and mompreneur Trista Cardona, have said of her work what grandma’s back in the day would call a “growing hand.” Her passion as well as her focus on healthy hair is what keeps her clients happy and coming back. However, the naturally creative mom says that once she realized the wide range of creativity that comes with being in the hair business, she was all in.
After working at a couple of salons and building up a sizable clientele, Cardona along with her husband and business partner, Colombo Roc, decided to open up their own salon, The Hair Social. With close to 12 years experience in the industry, this awesome mother of an adorable two-year old daughter sets a perfect example of a mompreneur who rocks. Get it, Mama!
