Now Hiring: San Diego County Fair looks to bring on 1,000+ temporary workers

Indoor & outdoor jobs available in a variety of departments

DEL MAR, Calif. (April 2, 2024) — The 22nd District Agricultural Association is now hiring temporary workers for the region’s largest annual community celebration, the San Diego County Fair.

This year, the District intends to hire more than 1,000 temporary workers to help put on the Fair, which runs 20 days this year and features animals, rides, games, live music, entertainment, education, community exhibits, food, fun, and more. The wide range of jobs includes ticket takers, traffic directors, guest services ambassadors, exhibits attendants, laborers, and many more. Indoor and outdoor jobs will be available.

“We love building our team every year to help officially get the summer started in San Diego County,” said Carlene Moore, the CEO of the District, which produces the Fair and owns and operates the Del Mar Fairgrounds. “We are looking for people who embody our FAIRS values – Fun, A+ Quality, Integrity, Respect, and Service — and who love great weather, a fun and festive atmosphere, engaging our community, serving others, and seeing the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. There is no better place to work in the summer than at the San Diego County Fair.”

The 2024 San Diego County Fair runs from June 12-July 7, with closures on Mondays and Tuesdays, but many jobs start prior to the beginning of the Fair, and hiring has already begun for many positions.

Employees will enjoy an exciting work environment, deeply discounted Fair tickets for friends and family, flexible hours, and an easy online application process.

Current job postings can be viewed on SDFair.com/jobs. More positions will be posted in the coming weeks. Hourly pay rates start at $16, but could be higher depending on the position. Applicants who have previously worked for the Fair are welcome to apply again for any position that suits their interests and abilities.

The District is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to age, ancestry, color, disability (mental and physical), exercising the right to family care and medical leave, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, military or veteran status, national origin, political affiliation, race, religious creed, sex (includes pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and related medical conditions), and sexual orientation, citizenship status or any other protected status in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws.
