The Chapter founded and sponsored the Omega Head start for over 30 years. The Municipal Building in downtown Phoenix bears the name of Omega member, the Honorable Calvin C. Goode, who served on the Phoenix City Council for over 22 years.
Over the years the Chapter has partnered with various organizations to sponsor educational and health seminars. Blood-drives, essay and talent competitions as well as a mentoring program that covers the entire year. The Omega Youth Leadership Academy (OYLA) is in its 12th year and has witnessed hundreds of youth in grades six through high school age.
Notable: The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity is the first Black Greek letter fraternity to have been founded on a predominately Black College campus (Howard University, Washington, DC) in 1911.
Omega Psi Phi has undergraduate and graduate chapters across the United States and around the world. The fraternity’s cornerstone is based on its four Cardinal Principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift. Long live the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the principles that make it great!
