January 18, 2015, couldn’t have been a more perfect day for the city of San Diego to host its 35th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. Thousands came out on a sunny Sunday afternoon to enjoy one of the largest celebrations of its kind in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The parade hosted sparkling floats, soulful High School Bands, Drill Teams, Colleges, Fraternities, Churches, Organizations, Peace and Youth groups.
This parade is coordinated by the Zeta Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the oldest African American fraternity in America, founded in 1906. The seven men who founded this organization at Cornell University in New York recognized the need for a strong bond of Brotherhood among African descendants in this country. Dr. King was also an Alpha.
