(San Diego, CA) Smooth jazz guitarist and vocalist Nick Colionne who’s style of music is best described as both urban and contemporary, is set to hit the stage this Saturday, closing out the summer at San Diego’s Jazz at the Creek.
The Chicago native who learned to play guitar at 9 from his step-father, has been touring professionally since he was a teenager. Nick honed his skills playing with R&B legends the Staples Singers, Curtis Mayfield, The Impressions, Natalie Cole and more.
Opening for Colionne is songstress Daneen Wilburn performing with her award-winning band, featuring – 2015 Grammy Award Winning producer of Gregory Porter’s Liquid Spirit best jazz vocal album/composer/pianist Kamau Kenyatta (keys), the amazing Stephen McKinney (bassist), incredible Richard Sellers (drums), and the show stopping Joel Whitley (guitarist). Part of the concert series also includes saxophonist Reggie Codrington who brings his melodic and cool old school soul contemporary funk on stage.
Reggie has worked with Stanley Clarke, George Duke, and Al Jarreau, among many others. It is sure to be a great time.
Jazz At The Creek offers an intimate outdoor setting along the banks of Chollas Creek in the beautiful Market Creek Amphitheater.
Jazz at the Creek finale will take place on Saturday, August 15th from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. at the Market Creek Plaza Amphitheater located at 310 Euclid Avenue, San Diego CA 92114. Doors open at 2pm.
