Can you believe it? August just flew by, and we’re already feeling a bit nostalgic about bidding farewell to a vibrant and fun-filled summer of outdoor music festivals and concerts.
But no worries! It’s not over just yet. We still have the highly anticipated 12th annual Jazz at the Creek concert series in San Diego coming up this Labor Day week-end, and an unforgettable one at that.
This year’s music series will feature a backyard party style celebration kicking off Saturday, September 2nd with headliner, Grammy-award winning saxophonist Kirk Whalum. Also performing on the same day, Kevin Flournoy & Friends featuring Rebecca Jade, Lamont Dozier Jr. & Shannon Pearson and Darryl Williams featuring B. Thompson.
The backyard party continues on Sunday, September 3rd, in a celebration of “Sunday’s Best” presenting a tribute to the “Greats in Jazz with headliner, Grammy-award nominated guitarist, Norman Brown. In addition to Brown, in Sunday’s line-up include, Grammy-award nominated sax player, Eric Marienthal, the Lao Tizer Band featuring Karen Briggs and Aretha Scruggs.
Organizers of Jazz at the Creek boasts a roster of National and International star power that cannot be found anywhere else.
The Jazz at the Creek concert series is a musical staple for the Diamond District of San Diego and features delicious mouthwatering dishes from local food vendors including retail shopping from unique specialty vendors. The intimate open-air experience and energized performances from the openers to the headliners, makes Jazz At The Creek one of the single most alluring celebrations of the summer.
Notable hosts, 92.5 FM legendary On-Air Personalities Kelly Cole and DJ John Phillips, are returning with colorful insights and music fit for a backyard party.
