Snoop Dogg and Paramount+ Celebrate Sanaa Lathan’s Directorial Debut: ON THE COME UP

Snoop Dogg, BLE and Paramount+ hosted a special advance screening on Tuesday night celebrating Sanaa Lathan’s directorial debut film, ON THE COME UP, on Snoop Dogg’s compound in Inglewood, CA. Guests celebrated with a fun-filled night of food trucks, concessions, a bar, DJ, and Snoop’s vintage cars where guests got to sit and watch the movie “drive-in” style. 





Jam-packed with Hollywood’s most elite entertainers, filmmakers, directors and executive producers, the event featured several A-list attendees including; Sanaa Lathan, Snoop DogMike Epps, Warren G (Rapper), Lady London, Jonica Booth (HBO’s Rap Sh!tBrandee Evans (Starz P-Valley)Page Kennedy (Netflix’s Upshaws), Laron Hines (Are You Smart? Influencer) and more. 





Based on the New York Times #1 best-selling novel by Angie Thomas (The Hate U Give), ON THE COME UP is the feature directorial debut of Emmy-nominated actress Sanaa Lathan (daughter of director, Stan Lathan) and is premiering on Paramount+ on September 23rd.





 The original film, masterfully tells the story of Bri, a gifted 16-year-old rapper, who attempts to take the battle rap scene by storm in order to lift up her family and do right by the legacy of her father – a local hip hop legend whose career was cut short by gang violence.





On its way to snagging an Emmy nomination, the film stars an incredible array of powerhouses including; Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Sanaa Lathan, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Mike Epps, Lil Yachty, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Justin Martin, Titus Makin, Michael Cooper Jr., GaTa, and newcomer Jamila C. Gray
