(LAS VEGAS, NV) โ On March 25, 2018 –ย Central City Productionsย completed the taping of theย 2018 Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awardsย in Las Vegas at the Orleans Arena.ย The annual showย hailed as an,ย โepic night in gospel music,โ was hosted by Kirk Franklin. The telecast willย premiere onย TV One, Good Friday, March 30, at 9/8cย .ย Additionally, the Stellar Awards will air in national broadcast syndication March 31-May 6, 2018.
This yearโs spectacular show open featured Stellar Awards alumย Erica Campbellย reuniting with her sisterย Tina Campbellย as the hit gospel duoย Mary Maryย for the first time in more than six years. The show also included an all-star tribute to the late, greatย Edwin Hawkins, with his sisterย Lynette Hawkinsย accepting theย Edwin Hawkins Icon Awardย in his honor. Also, a stand out moment featured the multi-platinum award-winningย Snoop Doggย performing material from his new gospel album, โBible of Love.โ
The night included performances byย Snoop Dogg, Mary Mary, Kierra Sheard, Tori Kelly, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Anthony Brown,ย JJ Hairston,ย Travis Greene,ย Jonathan McReynolds, Ricky Dillard, Todd Dulaney,ย Tasha Page Lockhart, KeKe Wyatt, Canton Jones, Deitrick Haddon, Koryn Hawthorne, LeโAndria Johnsonย and more.ย Special presenters includedย Donnie McClurkin,ย Merle Dandridge,ย David Mann,ย Anika Noni Roseย and more.
Top winners of the night were JJ Hairston six awards; Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Travis Greene each winning four awards; and Anthony Brown winning two awards.

Don Jacksonย bestowed special honors upon gospel greats who have made significant contributions to the genre. The incomparableย Tamela Mannย was the 2018 recipient of theย James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Awardย and the legendaryย Rev. Milton Bigghamย receivedย The Ambassador Dr. Bobby Jones Legends Award.
