The January 6 Insurrection Hearings: Will the Evidence Change the Conclusion or will the Conclusion Change the Evidence…”This time?”

Questions, questions, questions? And Questions on top of questions…

Following evidence packed case in January of 2021, the majority of the GOP failed to consider the evidence before them and in doing so, allowed Donald J. Trump to walk away from the presidency and his part in the January 6, attempted overthrow of the democratic process. Roll the clock forward, one year and six months later and the January 6 Commission is providing evidence in “prime time” that even a sightless person can see and a deaf person would be able to clearly hear and discern, the former president was indeed culpable in the actions of January 6, 2021.

What happened previously:

In January of 2021, the U.S. House of Representatives, voted 232 – 197, with (4) no votes to impeach Donald J. Trump a second time. Ten Republicans sided with the Democratic majority House to affirm Trumps actions on January 6, led to the insurrection and assault on the Halls of Justice, which left five dead, including a Capitol Police Officer….. (Clear Evidence)

“My vote to impeach our sitting president is not a fear-based decision. I am not choosing a side. I am choosing truth,”

Rep Jaime Herrera Beutler, of Washington, a Republican.

Minority House Leader, Liz Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney who also served in Congress has been censored by her State Legislature for voting to impeach Trump, and she is one of two members of the GOP presiding on the January 6 Commission.

Said Cheney, “None of this would have happened without the President. The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not. There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and oath to the Constitution.

(More evidence).

“On January 6, 2021 a violent mob attacked the United States Capitol to obstruct the process of our democracy and stop the counting of presidential electoral votes. This insurrection caused injury, destruction and death in the most sacred space in our Republic…

(Even more evidence).

The President summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President,”

Liz Cheney

(Evidence).

The question now becomes will the Senate GOP members have the courage (this time) to bring charges of treason and insurrection against Trump and bar him from every seeking office again?Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell, is still perched over the GOP, and has said that Trump could have quelled the insurrection, and the “Big Lie” Trump continues to lament is indeed a “Big Lie” as Biden won the 2021 election. With several of the former Presidents closest advisors and Attorney’s testifying that Trump indeed knew he lost the 2020 election, yet he choose to take the advice of a reportedly intoxicated Rudy Giuliani, the disbarred former New York Mayor who suggested (per testimony) that Trump go out and announce he won the election – although the votes clearly stated he had not.

The night of the election Fox News broadcasted that Arizona a state known for voting red had gone blue in favor of Joe Biden. This infuriated Trump and he immediately contacted Fox News, berating the news team and Chris Stirewait, the Political Editor in particular.

Stirewait testified before the January 6 Commission and detailed in colorful analyst the anger and rage the former president displayed toward him and the station. However, it was McConnell, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, South Carolina Senators Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott and a host of other GOP Senators that supported Trump in his baseless claims that the November election was fraudulent initiallyMcConnell was on record immediately following the election stating, “Let Trump have his moment, he will settle down and move on?” (Trump escalated in his false assertions, having his attorney’s file lawsuits across the country (62 to be exact) – ever case of Trumps false claims were thrown out by every Court from Michigan to Arizona…\

“Truth is not partisan. If we allow truthful voices to be silenced, if we ignore their warnings, eventually there will be no one left to warn us.”

Rep. Bennie Thompson

The January 6 Commission chaired by Rep Bennie Thompson (D-Miss), who landed in the political arena by registering voters in rural Mississippi. He still resides in a town of less than 600.

“This is not about Republicans vs. Democrats, or red states vs. blue states, this is about preserving and protecting American democracy. No person is above the law. Our goal and only goal is to present the truth.”

Rep. Bennie Thompson.
