January 15, is the official birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Today, the civil rights activist would have been 85.
Thanks to his hard work, much has been accomplished to bring this country closer to King’s dream.
Dr. King spent years— fighting to make justice and fairness a reality for everyone. During the sixties he helped organize lunch counter sit-ins, voter registration rallies and the freedom rides that forced federal transportation integration laws.
Julian Bond was quoted by a source as saying:“The racial picture in America has improved remarkably in my lifetime. Forward in the struggle. Inspired by the achievements of the past, sustained by a faith that knows no faltering, forward in the struggle.”
Happy Birthday, Dr. King!
