Timeless Hitmaker Bill Withers Dies at 81

The West Virginia native was born in 1938. A difficult childhood would lead him to later go on and create the incomparable Lovely DayLean On Me and Ain’t No Sunshine, Use Me and Just the Two of Us. He won three Grammy awards and entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015. In 2009, Still Bill a documentary film following the life of Withers from his roots in West Virginia to his career in the United States Navy, to his famed musical career and post-retirement family life, received its world premiere at the 2009 South by Southwest Film Festival, leading up to many other film festivals around the world.

Withers leaves behind his Marcia Johnson and their two children, Todd and Kori. Our continued thoughts and prayers are with their family.
