This seven-show package kicks off in October, starting with KIMBERLY AKIMBO, the profoundly funny and deeply moving 2023 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical. Followed by the beloved, cinematic classic that’s now a smash-hit on Broadway and winner of the 2022 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, BACK TO THE FUTURE: THE MUSICAL. San Diego welcomes the cinematic classic SOME LIKE IT HOT, transformed into an award-winning musical, directed and choreographed by San Diego-native Casey Nicholaw. The Broadway sensation WICKED returns, setting the stage for premieres of A BEAUTIFUL NOISE THE NEIL DIAMOND MUSICAL, the spectacular new musical MOULIN ROUGE! THE MUSICAL, and the musical comedy SHUCKED, directed by San Diego’s own Jack O’Brien.

A new musical about growing up and growing old (in no particular order), KIMBERLY AKIMBO is the winner of 5 Tony Awards including BEST MUSICAL. It features Tony Award-winning book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire (Shrek), a Tony Award-winning score by Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home), choreography by Danny Mefford (Dear Evan Hansen) and direction by Tony-nominated director Jessica Stone.
Kimberly is about to turn 16 and recently moved with her family to a new town in suburban New Jersey. In this “howlingly funny heartbreaker of a show” (The New Yorker), Kim is forced to navigate family dysfunction, a rare genetic condition, her first crush … and possible felony charges.
