Trailer: Black Girl Genius in Marvel’s “Ironheart” on Disney+ EP Ryan Coogler

Suit up! Marvel fans, get ready to meet the next generation of superhero brilliance. Marvel Television just dropped the teaser trailer and poster for Ironheart, a highly anticipated new series starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams—a tech-savvy, unapologetically brilliant young Black woman whose iron suit innovations rival even Tony Stark’s. First introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri’s story now takes center stage in her own series, premiering exclusively on Disney+ on June 24. Set in her hometown of Chicago, Ironheart explores the power of purpose as Riri navigates the tension between technology and mysticism, going toe-to-toe with the mysterious Parker Robbins aka “The Hood” (played by Anthony Ramos). This groundbreaking character was created in 2016 by Brian Michael Bendis, and later elevated by Black female voices like acclaimed writer Eve Ewing. Now, under the creative direction of head writer Chinaka Hodge and executive producer Ryan Coogler—alongside a stellar Black-led cast and crew—Ironheart celebrates intellect, innovation, and identity like never before.
