Broadway San Diego brings the Tony Award®-winning Best Musical The Outsiders to the San Diego Civic Theatre for a limited one-week engagement, November 3–8.
Based on S.E. Hinton’s beloved novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s landmark film, the musical follows Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade, and their fellow Greasers as they navigate rivalry, friendship, family, and the search for belonging in 1960s Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Featuring an original score, dynamic choreography, and a powerful coming-of-age story, The Outsiderscelebrates the bonds that unite us and reminds audiences that there is still “lots of good in the world.”
San Diego’s own Brendan Dallaire is taking his talents on the road, recently assuming the role of Sodapop Curtis in the touring production. A graduate of the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, a Broadway San Diego Awards alum, and a performer with North Coast Repertory Theatre, Dallaire’s journey reflects the depth of talent nurtured in San Diego’s performing arts community.
The production won four 2024 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and originated at La Jolla Playhouse in 2023 before making its Broadway debut in 2024.
